Signature Programs

Lecturer Welcome and Orientation

This one day session in late August welcomes and acclimates our new lecturers to Rutgers–New Brunswick and its many campus resources. It is a great time to network with new colleagues.

Pathways to New Faculty Success

Serves as the orientation for new fulltime faculty including Teaching, Tenure track, Research, Extension, Library, and Professional Practice faculty. Part 1 takes place over two days in late August and includes the new employee orientation conducted by Human Resources. A second session takes place online the week before classes begin in January. Pathways to New Faculty Success provide a unique opportunity to learn more about Rutgers New Brunswick and interact with other new faculty members.

Provost Leadership Fellows for Faculty Advancement

Sponsored by the Office of the Provost, faculty fellows in this experience-based program assist with researching, developing, delivering and evaluating faculty and leadership development programs within the Center for Faculty Success. Learn more about the program.

Faculty Excellence Awards

The annual Chancellor and Provost Awards for Faculty Excellence recognize Rutgers–New Brunswick faculty members who have made outstanding contributions through innovative teaching; cross-disciplinary research, inquiry, or artistic expression; public engagement; and service.

TIIP: Prompting Cookbook

April 10 @ 11:00 am
In this hands-on workshop you will explore prompt engineering as a key ingredient as you think about course design, while considering alignment between course objectives, module-level objectives to design of assignments and assessments. Work alongside us as we use prompting to assist in course design preparation (by creating course goals, defining module-level learning objectives, draft assessments and create rubrics). This is to be followed by the use of prompting to generate active learning activities, instructional aids for practices and assessments, lesson plans and more. We will be examining available resources to review existing worked-through exemplars for strengths and possibilities for improvement. REGISTER
